Yacouba is a PhD holder from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). 

His research interests are: electronics, solid state devices, power, energy storage systems, DSG, renewable resources, and their application in Developing Regions.

He worked towards the final requirements of his Ph.D degree on Solar Thermoelectric generator (STEG) for Energy Delivery to Remote Residential Areas in Developing Regions.

He is currently an Adjunct Professor at Electrical and Computer Engineering Dept at UNLV for the Spring 2016 Semester.
