Lab
description:
- Laboratory introduction, installing and using Cadence, posting html lab reports
Pre-Lab:
- Get a CMOSedu account, from Dr. Baker
- Review the material that covers how to edite the webpage at CMOSedu.com
Lab Task:
- Student must follow Tutorial_1 for the first 25 steps.
Lab:
First,
we start the Cadence program and we make a new library for the lab. I
created a library by going to File > New > Library like the
pictire below.

After
creating a library, I had to make sure that it was created. I checked
by going on MobaXterm to the user home directory > CMOSedu
> cds.lib (Open with default text editor) and see if Tutorial_1
(below).

After,
I went back to Cadence and opened the Tutorial_1 library and created a
schematic and then I started to add circuit elements (below).

Then you add all the elements to create a circuit (below).

I then needed to analysis the circuit by first going to the tab called Launch > ACE L (below)

Next,
we have to set a timer for the circuit to run on. I did this by going
the the ADE L tab menu to Analyses > Choose. A new window will come
up and you need to make sure the Analysis is tran, stop time is 1, and
the Enabled has a check mark (below).
I then had to choose the places where I want to see the
values by going to the ADE L tab menu to Output > To Be Plotted >
Select On Schematic and then go to the schematic and choose the places
I want to see the values for. If done correctly, the ADE L window
should look like this.

Finally
you hit the green buttom (Netlist and Run) and the results should look
exactly like the image below.

This is the end of lab 1.
