In this lab I worked through the first portion of Tutorial 1. The beginning of the tutorial is setting up the Cadence work environment which I had luckily already done for the lecture portion of this class.

Once the software was all setup and ready to go it was time to get on with creating the resistor divider circuit. This process was not exactly rocket science, but as expected when you put 1VDC across two identical resistors the voltage at the point between the resistors is .5VDC. Below is a picture of the schematic and the result of the simulation showing the input and output voltages. Click any image to see it at full size.

The second part of the lab was to come up with and discuss a backup strategy for the class. Personally I am fully committed to the Google Drive so I will be using that to keep a backup of my work. Below are the details of how I plan on doing this with relevant pictures.

I will download my work from Cadence to my Google Drive.

Once the files are on my Google Drive they will be synchronized to all computers that I log in on.

Drive keeps track of file version changes so I can roll back to a previous version using Google Drive's web app.

And this concludes our magical journey through Lab 1!
