Lab description and goals:

Learn the layout and schematic of an inverter and how to use other simulators.

 

Prelab:

Go through Tutorial 3

 

Lab:

 
First we will create a 12u/6u and 48u/24u inverter schematic, layout, symbol, and make sure it passes DRC and LVS.

Next we will test these inverters by simulating running a load of 100fF, 1pF, 10pF, 100pF. We will do these simulations first in spectre as normal and second in ultrasim to compare.

We can see here that both Spectre and UltraSim create similar graphs, with slight differences in accuracy.
