The purpose of this lab was to become familiar with using the Cadence server to run simulations. The lab asked to complete a tutorial on the CMOSedu website and include screenshots.

The first step was to extract NCSU Cadence Design Kit (CDK) version 1.6.0 beta onto our desktop and then add it into our directory on the cadence server. The tutorial then instructed to add a list of definitions into the cds.lib file. I was able to complete this steps without any problems.

After defining the libraries the tutorial asked to launch cadence by typing "Virtuoso &" in the command prompt in MobaXterm. The figures below shows this process:

After launching Cadence, the tutorial asked to create a library named "Tutorial_1" and define it in the cds.lib file. It then asked to add a cell named "R_div" and open it to edit. The final schematic that the tutorial asked for is shown below:

The tutorial then asked to launch "ADE L" which opened another window shown below

The tutorial then instructed to change the simulator to Spectre and change to a transient analysis under the "Analyses" tab. After this it asked to select the nodes to be plotted by choosing them on the schematic. The final step was to run the simulation using the green arrow. The results are shown below.
